How To Create a Creative Web Design

 Hi friends overthere,

Here are some tips on how to create a creative web design

Custom-made web designs are required for a website if you want it to get popular. You may decide to create one yourself, because you have art talent, or you are a designer.

You're working on a design, and a couple hours later it's done. Feeling proud, you show some people for review. They don't like it, it hurts their eyes. Has this every happened to you? It's very easy to create a bad web design. Ever been on those old geocities sites? Red text on blue backgrounds, flashing GIF's, etc, these are all enemies of good design. Here are some things you should avoid while making a custom design.

Never put content text in bold, italic, bright, or flashy fonts. It makes it difficult to read, and as well, it's hard to read. It's fine to use them for headers, but absolutely never for main content.

Keep font sizes consistent. Don't use 18 point font for your logo, then 20 point for your body text. It makes no sense, confuses your visitors, and is simply put, ugly.

Don't use animated gif's, or clashing colors. Animated GIFs are mostly gone now, for the better. They're gone for a reason, don't use them. Also, clashing colors, red text on blue backgrounds, it KILLS your eyes. Never use opposite colors for background and text, you may think complimentary colors look nice, they don't.

No cross-browser compatibility, or support for different screen sizes. Always check your design in multiple browsers and resolutions. Just because it works on your screen, doesn't mean it's completely destroyed in another screen, or browser.

Those are the most common design problems. If you can avoid them, you can easily create a beautiful custom web design.

But what if I want to create a good design? There are a few things you should do.

"Good design is obvious. Great design is transparent." - Joe Sparano. This means when people see your design, they should notice what you're trying to tell them, not the design itself. Don't make your visitors think to find out what you want to tell them. That is what good creative design is.

Make sure your website has valid XHTML and CSS. If you want to have a reputable web site, you must make sure it's valid. It can affect your SEO, and also cause errors in browsers if it is not.

Don't be afraid of white space, it's useful. White space isn't your enemy, you should have some of it. Take for example Apple. They use a lot of white space in comparison to Microsoft's old website.

Check out other people's designs for inspiration, but DON'T rip off their work. You can look up web design galleries, or designer portfolios, such as http://lokocreative.com/.
Following all of this, it should be easy to create the custom web site design of your dreams. Remember to be creative, innovative, and imaginative with everything, and good luck!
